Local shops

Show what you sell without building an online store.

Most of your customers do not want to buy online: they want to know whether you have it before walking over. That is a shop window, not a checkout.

The window shows what the shop sells with photos and by category, so customers know what is there before coming, without the obligations of an online store: no basket, no payment gateway and no stock to reconcile every day.

The online store nobody uses

Plenty of neighbourhood shops build a full online store, with basket and gateway, and run into two things: keeping the stock current daily is a job nobody has time for, and their customers keep coming to the shop anyway. The result is an expensive website, out of date, radiating neglect.

The question your customer actually asks before coming is a different one: «will they have this?». Answering it is a shop window: photos, categories and indicative prices, with nothing to reconcile at closing time.

What to show and how

There is no need to upload the three thousand lines in the stockroom. It works far better to show what sets you apart: the brands you carry, the seasonal arrivals, what people come in specifically for and what you get asked about every week. Twenty products well described do more than three hundred with a blurred photo.

Prices, with judgement

Publishing prices helps filter and helps people find you, and in some trades it is delicate because they move often. A reasonable solution is to state the price of what is stable and a range for what moves. What is not advisable is having old prices: it is the fastest way to start a sale with an argument.

And the next step, made easy

Each product carries alongside it the way to settle the doubt: WhatsApp to ask about a size, phone to reserve, address and hours to come in. The window does not sell by itself: it brings the customer to the door, which is the point.

What we do about it

Part of the maintenance: you never have to ask, and it is never billed apart.

  • Products with photo and category What sets you apart, not the whole stockroom.
  • Prices where they make sense For what is stable, and a range for what moves.
  • New arrivals and seasons Published with a sentence when the stock lands.
  • The brands you carry Which is what many people search you by name for.
  • The next step alongside WhatsApp, phone and directions on each listing.
  • Optimised photos So the page loads on mobile data too.

And this you change with one sentence

You write what you want changed and we publish it.

Upload the autumn arrivals

Published with photo, category and price.

Take down the summer products

Removed and kept for next year.

Add the new brand we have started carrying

Added as a category and announced on the home page.

Frequently asked questions

Would an online store not be better?

It depends on whether you will maintain it and whether your customers buy that way. For many neighbourhood shops, a good window sells more than an abandoned checkout.

How many products should I upload?

As many as you can keep current. A small, living window beats a big, dead catalogue.

What if I want to sell online later?

It can be added when it makes sense. Starting with the window closes no doors and avoids spending too early.

Do I have to update stock levels?

No, and that is the point. The window says what you carry, not how many units are left.

Where all this comes from

Every figure and every rule quoted above, linked to the official text.

Do people know what you stock without coming in?

If the answer is that they have to ask, visits are being lost there. A window fixes it without building a store.
