Local shops

Prices, returns and legal texts, said properly.

Pricing information and the returns policy have their own rules. And the website is where the customer reads them before coming.

The shop website carries the three legal texts written for that business, the pricing and returns information consumer rules require, and a daily copy of the site and of whatever it has received.

Prices and sales have rules

Spain’s Retail Trade Act 7/1996 regulates, among other things, sales and promotional selling, and the consolidated Consumer Protection Act requires clear information about prices and terms. If your website announces a campaign, that information has to be clear there too.

The returns policy, written down

In a physical shop, the exchanges and refunds you offer voluntarily are your decision, which is exactly why it is worth writing down: how many days, with or without a receipt, whether money is refunded or a credit note issued. Half the arguments at the counter are avoided if that is published and the customer has been able to read it beforehand.

The usual three texts

A legal notice with the owner’s real details, a privacy policy explaining what you collect — the form, the WhatsApp notification list, the newsletter if you have one — and a cookie policy with its table plus a banner where refusing costs what accepting costs, as the AEPD cookie guide of May 2024 requires.

And the daily backup

The window with all its photos, the brand pages and the messages received are copied whole every night, off the server, with the restore tested. Rebuilding a window of two hundred photos is a lost afternoon that does not need losing.

The same thing, explained in general: GDPR and cookies · Daily backups

What we do about it

Part of the maintenance: you never have to ask, and it is never billed apart.

  • A legal notice with your details The real ones of the shop’s owner.
  • A published returns policy How many days, with or without receipt, credit or refund.
  • Pricing and campaign information Clear, as consumer rules require.
  • A cookie banner done properly Refusing costs what accepting costs.
  • A daily backup of the site Window included, kept off the server.
  • Security certificate Renewed on its own, with no odd warnings.

And this you change with one sentence

You write what you want changed and we publish it.

Frequently asked questions

Am I obliged to accept returns in a physical shop?

Beyond faulty goods, a voluntary returns policy is your decision. What is worth doing is writing it down and displaying it, in the shop and on the site.

Do I need a cookie banner if I do not sell online?

Only if your site loads something beyond the strictly necessary: analytics, a map or a video. If not, it gets explained in the policy.

Can I keep the phone numbers of people who write?

To deal with that enquiry, yes. To send promotions, it has to be asked for separately with an easy way to opt out.

Do the backups include the window?

Yes. It is the hardest thing to rebuild and the most frequently touched.

Where all this comes from

Every figure and every rule quoted above, linked to the official text.

Is your returns policy written down?

If it only lives in the head of whoever is serving, every argument starts from scratch. Publishing it ends them.
