Clinics and healthcare
Let them book without picking up the phone.
The patient picks a slot from their phone and you see it in your diary. Without interrupting a consultation for a call that could have waited.
Online booking lets the patient choose a slot from the clinic’s website and alerts the practice immediately; the diary opens and closes by writing a sentence, and only the data needed to give an appointment is asked for — no diagnoses and no reason for the visit.

The phone that rings in the middle of a consultation
In a small practice the phone is answered by whoever can, and whoever can is almost always doing something else. The result cuts both ways: a visit gets interrupted, and the calls arriving when nobody is free get lost — far more of them than people think, because nobody keeps a record of the call they did not make.
Online booking does not replace the phone: it takes the repetitive work off it. Somebody who just wants a check-up on Thursday afternoon books it without speaking to anyone, and the phone is free for what genuinely needs a voice at the other end.
Asking only what is needed, which matters more here
Giving an appointment takes a name, a way of getting in touch and the chosen slot. It does not take the reason for the visit, and it is better not to ask: the moment somebody writes down why they are coming, that becomes information about their health, which article 9 of the GDPR treats as a special category with reinforced protection.
If your specialty needs to know something before the visit, it gets asked in consultation or through a channel built for it, not in an open text box on a web form that ends up forwarded by email to three people.
You are the one running the diary
Opening afternoons in August, closing the bank holiday weekend, blocking the day you are in theatre: these are sentences, not settings. What closes stops being offered right away, and what opens appears to whoever is looking at that moment, which tends to be exactly when it is needed.
Fewer no-shows
An appointment booked from the site arrives with a confirmation and, if you want, a reminder before the day. It works no miracles, but a good share of no-shows are not deliberate: they are appointments booked three weeks ago by phone and written down nowhere.

Frequently asked questions
Does it replace the clinic management software?
No. It takes the request and alerts you; your software still holds the records and the billing. If your software can connect, we look at it; if not, the appointment still arrives and you enter it.
Can I ask for the reason for the visit?
You can, but then you are collecting health data and it has to be treated as such. Our recommendation is not to ask on the website and to ask in consultation instead.
What if the patient does not confirm?
The appointment stays a request until you accept it, which is how most small practices work. It can also confirm itself if you prefer.
Can people book from the Google profile?
Yes, and it is worth it: many patients decide there without opening the site. It gets set up with the profile.
Does the appointment data go anywhere?
To the clinic inbox and the phone you tell us. There is no platform in between keeping it.
