What your website includes
Get found by whoever is looking ten minutes away.
You are not up against the whole internet: you are up against the five businesses near you that do what you do. That is a fight you can actually win.
Local SEO means the business turning up when someone searches for what it sells near where they are, and it is worked on with a page of its own for each service and area, contact details identical everywhere and a well kept Google profile, which are the signals Google’s own documentation describes.

Google explains how it sorts, and it is worth reading
There is a lot of mythology around search rankings, and at the same time Google publishes the three factors behind the local result in the open: relevance, distance and prominence. Distance cannot be touched. The other two are, quite literally, the work.
Relevance means what you offer is written in the words people use to look for it, not the words used inside the trade. Prominence means your business shows up beyond your own website: reviews, mentions, the local paper, the trade association’s site, sponsoring the neighbourhood team. It sounds distinctly untechnological and it is exactly what separates two identical businesses on the same street.
A page for each thing you sell, not a list
The most repeated mistake in small websites is a single page called «Services» with twelve things inside it. That page answers none of the twelve searches well. Somebody searching for «kitchen renovation» wants a page about kitchen renovations, with photos of kitchens, ballpark prices, timescales and the usual questions.
So the sites we build grow like this: one page for each thing you genuinely sell, and one page for each area you genuinely work in. Not thirty cloned pages with the town name swapped, which Google sees coming and which achieves nothing; only the real areas, written differently because the work there is different too.
Name, address and phone identical everywhere
It sounds trivial and it is one of the few things that pays off quickly. If your website says «3 High Street, 2nd floor», your profile says «3 High St» and an old directory still lists your previous phone number, each version chips away at confidence in the whole. The first thing we do is review where you appear and with which details, and leave everything saying the same thing.
Telling the search engine what the page already says
Beyond the text a person reads, the site declares in a format search engines understand who you are, where you are, when you open and what you do. It is not a trick and it does not replace content — only what is visible on the page gets declared — but it stops a search engine having to guess at something already written down. Google documents that format for local businesses and we use it on every site.
What cannot be promised
Nobody can guarantee you first place. Anyone who guarantees it is selling you something else, usually paid advertising dressed up as ranking work. What can be promised is doing what is documented, doing all of it, and showing you what has been done: the profile, the pages, the matching details and the words people actually use to look for you. That moves the needle, and it shows in months rather than days.
What we do about it
Part of the maintenance: you never have to ask, and it is never billed apart.
- The words people search with The ones your customers use, not the trade’s and not the brochure’s.
- A page per service Each thing you sell, with its page, its photos and its questions.
- The areas you work in Written one by one and only the real ones: no cloned pages per town.
- Identical details everywhere Same name, address and phone on the site, the profile and the directories.
- A well kept Google profile Because the local result and the profile are the same fight.
- Honest reporting We show you which searches you appear for and which are still winnable.
And this you change with one sentence
You write what you want changed and we publish it.
I want to be found in the next town too
A new page for that area, with the work you do there rather than a copy of the other one.
We have started doing installations as well
A new service with its own page, linked from wherever it makes sense.
Why do I not come up when I search my own business?
We look and tell you what is missing: nearly always an unverified profile or details that do not match.
Frequently asked questions
How long until it shows?
Fixes to details and the profile show in weeks. New pages and prominence, in months. Anybody promising results in a fortnight is talking about paid advertising, which is perfectly legitimate and is not this.
Do you guarantee first place?
No, and be wary of anyone who does. We guarantee doing what is documented and showing you what has been done.
Do I need to write a blog?
Not as an obligation. A blog nobody maintains does more harm than good. If you have things to say it helps a lot; if you do not, that effort is better spent on the service pages.
Is it any use if I have no premises?
Yes. Businesses that travel to the customer compete in the local result just the same, declaring their service area instead of an address people visit.
What about paid advertising?
It is compatible and sometimes sensible to get going, but it stops bringing visits the day you stop paying. What gets worked on here stays.
