Industrial companies

Selling abroad should not require a separate website.

The same site in three languages, each with its own address, so a buyer from abroad reads your products in theirs.

The industrial website is published in full in Spanish, English and Catalan, with its own address per language and with the equivalence between versions declared, so a foreign buyer lands directly on theirs.

Last reviewed:

English is not decoration: it is the buyer’s language

In industry, a good share of supplier searches happen in English even within Europe, because that is the language the specifications are written in. A website only in Spanish falls outside those searches without ever noticing.

Technical translation, not automatic

Here an automatic translator does particular damage: badly translated technical terms make people doubt the technical competence of whoever published them. Material names, treatments and standards get written as they are written in the trade, and your own people know that better than any machine.

One address per language, declared

Each version has its own address and the equivalence between them gets declared, following what Google documents for localised versions. That is what stops them being treated as repeated content and what gets each buyer to theirs.

And the data sheets too

An English website is not much use if the data sheet only exists in Spanish: the sheet is what goes into the project. You translate the ones for what you genuinely export, which is usually far fewer than people fear.

What we do about it

Part of the maintenance: you never have to ask, and it is never billed apart.

  • Three written versions With the same content in all three.
  • One address per language Shareable and linkable as it is.
  • Declared equivalence So the search engine shows the right version.
  • Technical terminology reviewed Materials, treatments and standards, written as they are written.
  • Data sheets in the right language For the references you genuinely export.
  • Translated forms and messages The reply arrives in the language it was written in.

And this you change with one sentence

You write what you want changed and we publish it.

Add French, we export a lot there

A new language with its own address and its own content.

Change the description of this family

Changed in all three languages at once.

Translate the sheets for the series we export most

Published alongside the Spanish ones.

Frequently asked questions

Is an automatic translator good enough?

In industry, no. A badly translated technical term costs credibility right in front of whoever can read it.

Can I have only Spanish and English?

Of course. You put in the languages that make sense for where you actually sell.

Does Google penalise having the site repeated?

No, provided the equivalence between versions is declared properly. That declaration exists for exactly this.

Do we translate it ourselves?

If you have somebody who knows the trade in that language, better. We build it in and stop the versions drifting apart.

Where all this comes from

Every figure and every rule quoted above, linked to the official text.

What language is your catalogue in?

If it is only one, there are supplier searches you do not exist in. And you never find out that you do not.
