Building and renovation

Before and after sells more than any brochure.

Every job with its starting photo, its result and what was done. Sorted by type of work, which is how people look for it.

The gallery gathers each job with its starting photo, its result and a short account of what was done, grouped by type of renovation and with the images optimised so they load on mobile data too.

Nobody hires a builder without seeing finished work

In this trade the decision is not made by reading: it is made by looking. Somebody thinking about a new kitchen wants to see kitchens, not a list of services. And they want to see kitchens like theirs, in flats like theirs, at budgets close to what they can spend.

A well built gallery does that work on its own: it filters out whoever does not fit and convinces whoever does, before the first phone call.

The before matters as much as the after

A photo of the finished kitchen, without the one from before, could belong to anybody. The pair — how it was and how it turned out — is what proves the job is yours and what really shows the value of what you do. And the before does not have to be pretty: the worse it was, the better the work reads.

And a sentence about what was done

Under each job, three or four lines: what was changed, how long it took, whether people lived in the house meanwhile, and some detail only whoever did it would know. That turns a nice photo into proof of craft, and it is also what a search engine can read.

Photos that load

A gallery of fifty photos straight off a phone gets seen by nobody: it weighs too much and people give up before it loads. Every image is cropped and compressed to the size it will be shown at, and the whole gallery ends up weighing less than two original photos.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need the client’s permission to publish their job?

It is worth having, and in writing. If details identifying the home or the family appear, it is not optional: consent is required.

How many jobs do I need?

Ten well told are worth more than fifty with one dark photo each. Better few and complete.

What if I have no before photos?

From now on, take them: two minutes with the phone on day one. For older jobs, publish the after with a good account.

Can I put the price of each job?

You can give a range, and it helps filter. What matters is being clear about what it depends on, which in renovation is everything.

Every figure and every rule quoted above, linked to the official text.

How many finished jobs are you not showing?

They are on somebody’s phone. Getting them off there and onto the site is one of the fastest wins there is.
