Building and renovation
The legal texts and the site backup, without thinking about it.
Legal notice, privacy and cookies written for your company, and a daily copy of the site and of the quote requests received.
The building company website carries the three legal texts written for that business, the prior information consumer rules require before contracting, and a daily copy of the site and of the requests received.

You contract with consumers, and that has rules
A renovation in somebody’s home is a contract with a consumer, and Spain’s consolidated Consumer Protection Act requires clear prior information about who you are, what you do, the total price and on what terms. Much of that can and should be on the website, which is where the client informs themselves before calling.
The three texts
A legal notice with the company’s real details — article 10 of Law 34/2002 requires them to be permanently and directly available —, a privacy policy explaining what the quote form collects, including photos of the client’s home, and a cookie policy with its table and a banner where refusing costs what accepting costs.
Photos of other people’s homes
This is the point specific to the sector. Photos of the inside of somebody’s home come in through the form, and photos of jobs that are somebody’s house can end up in the gallery. They are collected for the quote, explained in the policy, and not published without permission. Having that permission in writing, even as a message, avoids trouble.
And the daily backup
The site, the gallery with every job and the quote requests received are copied whole every night, off the server, with the restore tested. Losing a gallery of ten years of work is a real loss, and article 32 of the GDPR requires being able to restore any personal data inside it.
The same thing, explained in general: GDPR and cookies · Daily backups

Frequently asked questions
Do I need terms of business on the website?
The prior information is worth having clear. The building contract itself is signed separately, but what you promise on the site is part of what you are offering.
Can I publish a client’s job without telling them?
Not advisable, and if the home or the family can be identified, consent is required. A message asking for it is enough and prevents problems.
How long do I keep quote requests?
As long as needed to deal with them and for whatever the commercial relationship requires. It gets stated in the policy and honoured.
Do the backups include the gallery?
Yes. It is probably the most valuable thing on your site and the hardest to rebuild.
