Garages and motor trade

The photo of the warning light, answered without picking up the phone.

«Is this serious?» is the most repeated question in the trade, and it is better answered with a photo in front of you than shouted from the pit.

The workshop’s WhatsApp button opens a conversation with the business number and with the message already begun according to the page, and it serves both the question that comes first — a photo of the warning light or the damage — and telling the customer how their car is doing.

The question that never becomes a call

Plenty of people do not ring the workshop over a small doubt: they feel awkward about bothering you, or they cannot face explaining it. And that small doubt is often a repair. A button that opens WhatsApp with the message already begun turns that doubt into a conversation, and the conversation into a booking.

The photo changes everything

An amber light on the dashboard, a dent in the wing, a broken part: with the photo in front of you, you know in two seconds whether it is urgent, whether a part is needed and whether somebody should look before quoting. Over the phone that same conversation is ten minutes and a confused description.

And for telling them how the car is doing

The second use is the most appreciated: «the part is in, it will be ready tomorrow», «we have opened it up and this needs doing too, shall I quote it?». That call before touching anything, besides being good practice, fits the logic of the prior quote required by Royal Decree 1457/1986: nothing gets done without saying so first.

With hours, and without giving out your mobile

The workshop’s number gets published, not anybody’s personal one. And the hours get stated: a button implying an instant reply that answers the next day subtracts. The number of whoever writes is personal data and is there to deal with their breakdown, not for a broadcast list about tyre offers, which the WhatsApp Business messaging policy also limits.

What we do about it

Part of the maintenance: you never have to ask, and it is never billed apart.

  • A button on the site and on each service With the message begun according to the page.
  • Photo sending Which is what really changes the conversation.
  • Repair status updates Before touching anything that was not quoted.
  • Visible answering hours So as not to promise a reply at eleven at night.
  • The workshop’s number Never a personal mobile unless you decide it.
  • Phone and form as alternatives For the urgent and for what needs to be in writing.

And this you change with one sentence

You write what you want changed and we publish it.

Put WhatsApp on the bodywork page too

Added, with the message opening on the subject of a dent.

Change the number to the new workshop line

Changed on the button, in the footer and on the Google profile.

In August we only answer in the mornings

Hours changed on the button and in the note.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need WhatsApp Business?

Not compulsory, but it helps: it separates the workshop number from your personal one and allows hours, quick replies and a service catalogue.

Can I close the quote over WhatsApp?

You can agree and inform, but the quote is better set down in writing and signed as the sector’s rules require. The chat is for telling, not for replacing it.

What if they send a photo of a car that is not theirs?

It happens. That is why the formal quote happens with the car in front of you and with their details.

Can I send offers through it?

Not on the strength of that enquiry. It has to be asked for separately with an easy way to opt out.

Where all this comes from

Every figure and every rule quoted above, linked to the official text.

How many small doubts never get asked?

The ones that feel awkward. Many of them are a repair that went to another workshop.
